Sindulge is around “meh” right now. They have a great concept and the opportunity to go big, but their customer service, while willing to give discounts to dissatisfied customers, does not work to ensure that the products are truly customized (in spite of customers being chat-consulted for every box). When called on this fact (for example, I specifically requested no skincare products, and received almost all skincare), they just say that the consultations are no guarantee of what products will be received (in spite of specific products being mentioned), and that all boxes are subject to their inventory stock.

I did receive a second free month, and I really hope my second box is better. Some subscribers received Stila and OPI products, while the majority just received new/unknown brand products in their boxes. If everyone could match the quality of the first few boxes that were apparently shipped, I think this could be a really nice little company.

Shipping can take forever; I think this was one problem with my box. Although I was “assured” otherwise in my second consultation, I suspect that boxes that shipped later were left only with the YoungBlood products that were still in stock… along with my La Fresh Makeup Wipes to add to my growing collection of La Fresh wipes.

As of now I would probably recommend avoiding this one. I took me about a month and a half to get my box and every time I contacted Javin about it he would always say “it will be shipped next week.” EVERY TIME. I finally got a little snippy and got my bag. The products weren’t terrible, and I didn’t do my consultation, because times were limited and just reading other people’s reviews most said that they didn’t listen anyways. Might not be too terrible once they get things situated, IF they do.

As stated by other reviewers the consultations are nearly pointless. In my first box I specifically told the “consultant” that I do not use shampoo. The first sample I pulled out of my box was a jar of shampoo. Disappointed to say the least. Shipping was extremely slow. They kept sending me incorrect shipping invoices, and when my box was finally shipped I didn’t receive an invoice. The products were from no name brands except for Pixi and Youngblood. When I had my consultation, which was supposed to be 15 minutes long, she started the conversation and then suddenly disappeared for 5 minutes before answering my first question. (I did a text chat, not video.) The presentation was okay. I gave 1 star because I don’t particularly like the cheap little bag they ship the products in. Also my subscription somehow got canceled because of a payment process error, and I was not notified. Good thing I was planning on canceling anyways. Overall I would urge people to stay away until this company gets their sh*t together. They were supposed to be Beauty Army’s main competitor, but this point, there’s really no contest.

I don’t like that Sindulge completely ripped off Birchbox’s beauty profile survey. The questions are basically all the same, with one or two words changed. With so many services out there, they haven’t done much to differentiate themselves from the pack. The first box I got was only okay. 3 out of the 5 samples were from the same company. For the price, you’re better off going with a more established service.

I too had trouble with the shipping-it took forever, and then they cancelled a second order because ‘they were behind”. Seriously???!? The products were lackluster, and just mediocre. And again-they didn’t really read or listen to what my profile said. I didn’t like the whole BS of a ‘beauty consult” before getting samples, because they didn’t fall through with the goods. Why advertise, when you aren’t going to customize. I’ve dropped the service-there are better out there.

Although I liked the samples, I didn’t feel like they listened to my consultation and the contact I had with customer service was poor. They gave me a very inaccurate shipping estimate and only gave me a tracking number after I had to contact them a second time. Plus, their site is just confusing. They’ve got a paypal icon but I can’t see how to use paypal. Just lots of little things that add up to a poor experience.
