They contacted me to review for them because they found my huge list of monthly box list http://freesamplesreviews.com/2012/05/28/great-list-of-monthly-boxes/ . So they sent me a box. Thinking hey must be about what they display on the main page. Well that just kinda threw you off. I got a bag of popcorn, cookies, honey bar, and some wine jelly. Which the honey bar was they only good thing. The box didn’t even have a deco on it like the rest do. They do have some improvements to work on.

They are definitely new to the game, but the product quality is top-rate. There was a problem with my first box with some cookies opening inside the box and getting all over everything. Apparently I wasn’t the only one with this problem as they decided to send everyone a bonus free item separately as a replacement (a bag of caramel pistachio popcorn). This was a nice touch.

My first box was amazing, and my second was a disappointment (one item was a bag with a few croutons in it; another was a repeat from a few months earlier). Customer service is strong and I’m hoping they will grow into more reliability. The box is so inexpensive that it’s definitely worth trying at least once.

I loved my first Petit Amuse box and I am in the process of reviewing my second. I got great sized samples of quality foods from artisen companies and they were fantastic. My second box so far is just a great and I love the non-conventional stuff they included. You can see my full review for December on my blog, January’s should be done soon!

I love Petit Amuse – first off, they are a small business and second, they are a small business dedicated to bringing attention and business to other small businesses. I love them, and while their boxes tend to have a limited number of items I still think that the cost of admission is low if you’re getting to try and discover and eventually support (if you like) small farmers and artisan food makers!

Think these guys may have gone out of business. Check it out carefully before parting with $$$. Website down. Twitter not updated since October…hope you didn’t lose money, subscribers!
