I have over 50 JewelMint pieces, so I would consider myself a loyal fan of JewelMint. However, from someone who has been a JewelMint member for quite a while now, I can honestly say that the company isn’t what it used to be– and not in a good way. I feel, in JM’s urgency to expand their brand, they have let a lot of important aspects slip through the cracks– the quality is diminishing, they are taking longer to process and ship, they frequently now send out damaged pieces, and their customer service is inconsistent and way below par. I’m not quite sure what is going on with JM, but I have been underwhelmed and unenthusiastic about purchasing for a few months now, especially since they only give great New Member discounts and rarely any great promos for their loyal customers. I say, if you can get your hands on some of the older pieces– most of those are actually worth $30. The newer pieces are worth about half the price or less. The only thing that hasn’t changed is their packaging– the jewelry comes in a mint green box with an elastic bow on it, includes a product description card, and it’s packaged into a bubble mailer. Other than that, make sure you absolutely LOVE what you are purchasing, because returns are a nightmare and you will not get your money back– just a credit to get another piece.

I joined Jewelmint in December and have really enjoyed my purchases thus far. So far I’ve always skipped the month and just paid for pieces I’m interested in when good promos have come up, or bought Mystery Bags. There are a lot of things I don’t like about Jewelmint. First and foremost is the shipping. Free shipping is good when it doesn’t take two weeks to get to you. I ordered February jewelry on the 2nd that arrived the 13th. Since it was supposed to be a gift for the holiday I got lucky. Secondly, More than one package has arrived with the end barely closed. The product packaging is attractive but wasteful in my opinion. Occasionally there are really good promos for returning members but you have to watch for the fine print. Oft times they cannot be used on new or reissued or recolored pieces. My experiences with Customer Service have all been pretty good but the fact that I’ve had as many as I have had in such a short time says something. I have one piece that arrived damaged but I didn’t notice until it was too late to exchange (the item was sold out) so i have yet to do a return or exchange but from what I have seen of others going through it, it’s a pain. As to the actual product. Some of it is worth the $30 price tag, some not. Generally speaking the pieces are unique and really beautiful. I have several pieces that I’ve had people compliment only to be stunned I only paid $30 for them. Keep in mind it’s costume jewelry, check each piece on arrival for ANY defects, read the fine print on all promos, use the Facebook page for better Customer Service, and you will most likely come to love Jewelmint as much as I do.

Always love getting their pieces :) Shipping can be slow, but when you’re getting a ton of services like me, you don’t really notice. I would suggest it for anyone who likes trying new thing pieces of jewelry or just for some design inspiration. Very fun !!

Ditto everything the reviewer Bri said. To clarify my ratings…

Quality gets 2 because it’s almost non-existent in recent products. By recent I mean in the last year.

Presentation gets 4 because the products DO come in a nice box, albeit a wasteful one. Though some members have found lovely and creative things to do with them.

Shipping Speed gets 1 because it’s starting to take nearly 2 weeks to get an item, and just as much if not more to return one and get your money back/credit reapplied. By the time it’s taken care of, next month’s pieces are out.

Customer Service gets 2 because I have never had a good experience with any CS rep. Though I have seen members have good experiences, I have only dealt with rude, condescending, and unhelpful reps.

Overall it gets a 2 for me. I’m waiting for one more decent quality piece to come out that I like so I can use my last credit and cancel. And even then I will have to keep an eye on it to make sure it’s truly canceled since so many members have had issues with getting charged monthly even after canceling.

I have been a jewelmint member for quite some time now and I own a least 5 pieces of theirs. I am very picky about what I order from jewelmint because I do think that they are pricey for the quality of the jewelry. That said, of the 5 pieces I have I would say at least 3 of them are really great quality. The other two are decent quality, but probably not for the price. I did however use coupon codes for most of my purchases. BUT… on that note. I find it incredibly insulting that lately they are offering about 10 deals for discounts for new customers but are maybe offering one for existing customers. Jewelmint seems to be most interested in bringing new customers, but no real investment in maintaining those that are loyal to them. There have been many months where the selection in the showroom has not be anything that even looked like it should cost almost $30. And though I have not had any dealings with their customer service, I have heard countless horror stories on their facebook page about how bad their customer service is… so many so that I always pray there’s nothing wrong with my piece so I don’t have to go through that. I have seriously thought about cancelling my subscription many times, but I always hold out hope that next month will have a better selection and that I wont ever have to deal with customer service. That said… Two of the 5 pieces I own are absolute jewelry staples in my collection. I love them and wear them often, and I get compliments on them whenever I do wear them. They do occasionally have some seriously stand out pieces.

I like a few of their pieces but I don’t think they look like a $30 pair of earring or necklace, etc. I discontinued after 4 months.

I only received one item. A ring, it was very pretty and I would have continued to purchase except for one thing. They stated that the item was gold plated, which I would usually have no problem with. However I wore it for a few hours and it turned my finger green, something that normally cheap jewelry would do. I ended my subscription shortly after.

Jewelmint quality is mixed, but I like that you can take or leave any of the pieces every month. I think it’s a bit overpriced for what it is, but the packaging and customer service are really good.

I was a member of Jewelmint for about 6 months. They have a lot of lovely designs and I purchased about 9 or 10 pieces from them as gifts for close friends and for myself. Unfortunately, I ended up unsubscribing because the quality of the jewelry was not at all worth $30. Nearly all of the pieces I own have tarnished/discolored to the point of being unwearable. I’m really embarrassed to think that the pieces I’ve given as gifts to my friends might have done the same!

In addition, a few pieces have arrived with minor damage. I was able to fix them with my tools, since I make jewelry myself, but at $30/piece I expect to receive a product that is in good condition. I shouldn’t have to pay *and* do repairs.

In the end, I unsubscribed because it felt foolish to pay what is quite a bit of money for a grad student like myself for costume jewelry. I can find a wider variety of costume jewelry from Forever 21 or other mall shops and if it tarnishes or discolors, well, I didn’t pay $30 for it! And sadly, that isn’t even really a problem for me. I have rings from Forever 21 that I’ve worn daily, had on while washing my hands and they haven’t discolored. It’s a little ironic and silly when jewelry bought from a fast-fashion brand holds up better than the supposedly fancier stuff from Jewelmint.

Maybe we’re paying $30 for the cute boxes the jewelry comes in…

TL;DR: Jewelmint is a high-end wannabe brand that carries well-designed, but low-quality and overpriced jewelry.

After the first credit card purchase that enrolls you in our preferred membership where you can either “skip the month” or a monthly store credit is placed into your account. Skipping the month is very easy! You would just have to log into your account and click “skip the month” in the top right hand corner between the 1st-5th. Once you click that link and confirm the skip, you are not billed anything! There is never an obligation to pay and essentially the membership can be completely free.

If you wanted to read further into our membership it is explained in a paragraph disclaimer directly under the “purchase” button at checkout, on your confirmation email after your first purchase, our promotional emails as well as our FAQs, Terms of Service and How it works page.

Other benefits of our membership include a personalized showroom based on the style quiz our customers take at sign up. Keep in mind, that all products are available for purchase. You do not have to solely pick from your showroom selection. We also offer Mintsider rewards points after each purchase you make on our site.You receive 10 points for each dollar you spend. These points can be redeemed for free merchandise. Similarly, customers can rack up Style Points by reviewing a product, becoming a member, pinning a product etc.
